We will ensure that all crew members are thoroughly briefed on safety, ship-board procedures and how the safety equipment is used. We will tailor the activities and challenges based on the sea and weather conditions in conjunction with your development requirements and the capability of the participants.

Passage Planning
This is about ensuring the boat is well prepared, the weather conditions are understood and everything is in order for a safe and efficient voyage.

Navigation
Where you need to get to and how to get there - and handle all the expected (and unexpected) elements on the way. You will work with charts, compasses and other navigational aids.

Boat Management
Ensuring the crew are fed, watered and motivated and the equipment is working to its maximum efficiency.

Boat Handling
Handling the yacht at close quarters in busy marinas, anchoring, mooring and man overboard drills.

Rules of the "Road"
Who gives way to whom in what circumstances? Identification of different types of vessel and navigation mark.

Nautical Terms
Not just what "three sheets to the wind" means, but a basic overview on different parts of the boat and what they do. Just how many different names are there for a rope?

Ropework
We cover some of the basic knots and learn how different ropes are used for different purposes, particularly ensuring that the boat is securely tied up overnight.

Racing
We have innovative methods that will introduce a competitive element to the event whilst ensuring that team spirit is maintained at all times. Depending on the size of your group, we can arrange either informal or indeed formal yacht racing to add another dimension to the learning experience.
